A complete instrument panel is a large assembly that ships by freight; a lower panel or a lens ships as a parcel.
The dash top is replaced when sun exposure has cracked or warped it, when a collision has deployed the passenger airbag and split the panel, or when a previous repair has left the surface distorted. Lower panels are replaced after a wiring repair has broken the mounting tabs.
Ordering a dash panel is decided by the airbag configuration and by the option content. A panel for a vehicle with a passenger airbag has a designed split seam and a different reinforcement. Left- and right-hand drive vehicles use different panels. Colour from the trim code. Confirm the VIN before ordering a dash, because the freight cost makes a return expensive.
