They are the least expensive parts we sell and the ones most often reused when they should not be.
Plastic clips deform permanently when they are removed. A clip that has been pulled out once will not grip with the same force again, which is why a panel that was removed for a repair so often rattles afterwards. Metal bolts used on seat and belt anchorages are frequently specified as single-use, and reusing them is not acceptable in a structural repair.
Order by part number where possible, and by dimension where the old clip is broken. The listing photographs include the shaft length and the head diameter, which are the two dimensions that decide whether a clip will hold. Buying a small quantity rather than a single clip is sensible, because the same retainer is usually used in several places.
