Listings here include complete adjuster assemblies, individual recliner mechanisms and the handles that attach to them.
A recliner fails in a way that is easy to recognise: the backrest will not hold its angle, it drops back under load, or the lever moves without resistance because the pawl has worn. Height adjusters seize when the pivot dries out, and lumbar mechanisms break when the cable or the ratchet strips.
Ordering depends on the seat type. A recliner for a manual seat has a different pawl and spring from one on a power seat, and the left and right mechanisms are handed. Where the vehicle has a fold-flat function, the recliner includes an additional release that a standard mechanism does not have. Match by part number where the old unit still carries a label.
